1748 sialac is a stearate-coated aluminium oxide sanding sheet designed specifically for sanding lacquers, varnishes, primers and other soft resinous coatings. The stearate (zinc stearate) coating on the abrasive surface acts as a dry lubricant, preventing swarf from sticking to the abrasive and dramatically extending sheet life compared to non-stearated alternatives.

Ideal applications:

• Sanding and flatting of lacquers, varnishes and clearcoats
• Intercoat sanding of automotive paint systems
• Sanding of primers and primer fillers (non-wet)
• Finishing of furniture lacquer and wood finishes

Materials suited: Lacquers, varnishes, primers, gel coats, body filler (dry sanding only).
