What to look for

Match the shroud to your torch series and pick the bore and setback for the job — a tighter conical nozzle concentrates gas for thin work, a wider bore suits high-current welding. Keep it clear of spatter with anti-spatter spray or nozzle gel, since a clogged shroud starves the shield and causes porosity.
