These terms govern your use of this website and any goods or services you buy from us. Please read them carefully. By placing an order you agree to be bound by them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Hurstbourne Forge Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England & Wales, trading as Hurstbourne Forge. Our registered address and contact details are at the foot of this page. Our VAT registration number is GB 376 221 596.

2. Use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse it by knowingly introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or using it in any way that could damage, disable or impair the site. We may update, suspend or withdraw the site or any part of it without notice, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free from errors.

3. Orders & acceptance

An order placed through this website is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation (or, for trade-counter and bespoke work, when we accept the order in writing). We may decline or cancel an order — for example where an item is out of stock, where there has been a pricing or description error, or where we are unable to obtain authorisation for payment.

Where products are described, we take reasonable care to ensure descriptions, images and specifications are accurate, but minor variations (for example in finish, colour or dimensions of fabricated parts) may occur and do not make the goods faulty.

4. Prices & payment

  • Prices shown on the website are in pounds sterling (GBP).
  • Unless stated otherwise, prices are shown excluding VAT; VAT at the prevailing rate (currently 20%) is added and shown before you confirm your order.
  • Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown separately before checkout.
  • We may correct any pricing error before we accept your order; if a price was obviously wrong, we are not obliged to supply at that price.
  • Payment is taken at the time of order unless we have agreed account terms with you in writing. Goods remain our property until paid for in full.

5. Delivery

Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery (or on collection, where you collect from us). If no one is available to take delivery, the carrier's standard re-delivery or collection process will apply. Please inspect goods on arrival and tell us promptly about any shortage or damage.

6. Returns & cancellation

Consumers (non-business). If you are a consumer buying standard stock items, you have the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 within 14 days of receiving the goods, and to return them in unused, resaleable condition in their original packaging. Where you cancel in time we refund the price of the goods together with the standard outbound delivery charge; you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. This right does not apply to goods made or finished to your specification, cut to length or clearly personalised (see section 7), to gas cylinders, or to consumables and PPE that have been used, opened or worn.

Trade & account customers. Where you buy as a business there is no statutory cooling-off period. We may accept a return at our discretion under these terms; where we do, you pay the return carriage and the original delivery charge is not refunded. Goods must be unused, resaleable and in their original packaging.

Faulty or misdescribed goods (all customers). Anything faulty, damaged or not as described will be put right by repair, replacement or a full refund including delivery, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which gives consumers a 30-day right to reject faulty goods). Please contact us before returning anything so we can advise the best method.

7. Bespoke & made-to-order work

Much of what we make is cut, fabricated, welded or finished to order, or personalised. Because such items are made specifically for you they are non-cancellable and non-returnable once production has begun, except where they are faulty. You are responsible for the accuracy of any drawings, dimensions, files or specifications you supply, and for confirming that you have the right to have the part made. We will only proceed on the specification agreed.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for losses arising from your own breach of these terms, or — where you are buying as a business — for any indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit. Our total liability in connection with an order will not exceed the price paid for that order.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this website (text, images, logos, design) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. You may view and print pages for your own use but may not reproduce, republish or exploit them commercially without our permission. Drawings and files you supply to us remain yours; you grant us a licence to use them only to fulfil your order.

10. Privacy & cookies

We process personal data in line with our privacy policy, and use cookies and similar technologies as described in our cookie policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales. We may revise these terms from time to time; the version in force when you place your order applies to that order.
