Match the wire grade to your parent metal: SG2/G3Si1 mild-steel wire for general steel, 308/316 for stainless, and 4043 or 5356 for aluminium. Pick the diameter your machine's rollers and the plate thickness call for — 0.6 and 0.8mm for thin sheet and bodywork, 1.0mm and up for thicker fabrication — and choose gasless flux-core only where you can't run shielding gas, such as outdoors or on site.
